Star of the film Race for Glory (currently in cinemas), the mythical Lancia 037 Group B car was also one of the great attractions of the last Rétromobile show, as a reminder that 40 years ago, this model won in France what remains the last victory of a rear-wheel-drive car in the World Rally Championship (WRC).
As usual, this iconic event was oversubscribed within half a day of entries opening. The 380 successful applicants for the 5-12 October rally will be informed in June, but this year Lancia 037s will take priority. See www.tourdecorse-historique.fr.
