Last year, members of the American racing fraternity, and the public at the Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion discovered what fun touring cars can be after a raucous group of Tin Tops of the 1955-1969 era entertained crowds in a one-hour mini-endurance race.  Such was their popularity organisers have made sure they will be back in force this year.  Last year the grid comprised of everything from a Ford Anglia, to Parker McKean’s winning Alfa Romeo GTV 2000, with a myriad of Minis joining in.  After last year’s success, a full grid of 36 cars is expected at this year’s August 16-19 event, with many drivers more usually seen in high-powered IMSA, World Sports Cars or F5000s, coming out for the fun.
