e Spa 3 Hours, and the supporting race meeting around it, has developed into a major international event.  In a world where series tend to keep themselves to themselves, it is refreshing to see an entry list that includes many different nationalities and a truly wide variety of cars from the different series around Europe.  The three-hour race is open to GT and touring cars up to 1976 and includes cars like RS Porsches and Ford Escorts but, also refreshingly, as grids tend more and more to be all about the sharp end, over half of the 70-car field consists of pre-1965 cars with no chance of an overall win – and not a GT40 in sight.  It’s well worth checking out the interesting entry list at spasummerclassic.com.

The supporting races include Super Sixties, Belcar Cup, Colmore Youngtimers, Tourenwagen Legenden from Germany and the CSCC Interseries, as well as races from FHR, Germany’s biggest historic race organiser.   Dates are 26-28 April, nearly two months earlier than the original midsummer date.
