Silverstone Festival – Le Mans Celebration

A Le Mans theme at Silverstone, in this centenary year, will be headlined by a pair of Masters Endurance Legends races.  After more than 60 cars joined Peter Auto’s Endurance Racing Legends at Le Mans Classic, it looks like the category for later endurance prototypes and GT cars is set to grow and grow, with Masters reporting a record grid for Silverstone, which take place on 25-27 August.  Standout entries for the race will be a pair of Peugeot 908 prototypes.

In fact, GT and protypes that ran at Le Mans of all ages will find a race at the event, with the cars of the ‘50s and ‘60s in the MRL Stirling Moss/Woodcote Trophy races and the cars of the ‘60s in the Gentlemen Drivers race (renamed the International Trophy for GT Cars for Silverstone).  Masters will also run the GT and sports prototypes of the Masters Sports Car Legends for cars up to 1976.

Other themes of the event are the 75th anniversary of Silverstone Circuit, for which as many of the Grand Prix cars and models that participated in the first Silverstone Grand Prix as possible will be gathered in a special race, and the 60th birthday of the Ford Galaxie.

As always, food, music, demos, club gatherings, shopping, funfair and more are part of the giant summer Festival.
