A second place in Friday’s race and sixth place after a hard fought battle with Matt Wrigley’s Penske PC3 at the Spa Six Hour Meeting, was enough for Nick Padmore to be declared 2023 Masters Racing Legends Pre-78 Champion with still one round at Portimão to go.  Wrigley was hot on the tail of Padmore’s Britec Motorsport-run Black and Gold Lotus 77 when his driveshaft failed, taking the pressure off.  “It was good, it’s just a shame that Matt broke down.  I was really enjoying that”, said Padmore after the race.  After two earlier pre-78 titles in 2015 and 2016 and a post-78 championship in 2018, this is the Briton’s fourth title in historic Formula One.  Congratulations to the Champ and to the whole team!
