Only formed last August, Nova Motorsport, which has acquired the Avon branding and sales licences, and ensured the future of Avon Historic tyres, has continued its trajectory to becoming the leading independent tyre manufacturer for the motorsport and specialist tyre industries (see our April issue), with the acquisition of Portugal’s national tyre manufacturer, Camac.  Based in Palmeira, Portugal, Camac boasts a production capacity of over 500,000 tyres annually.

Nova was at Mugello with Peter Auto and has an exclusive contract to supply tyres for some of the grids

James Weekley, Nova Motorsport Commercial Director, said, “The acquisition not only solidifies our position as a leading independent tyre manufacturer for the motorsport and specialist tyre industries, but critically, it facilitates and accelerates the reindustrialisation of the Avon Motorsport product range.”

In its short existence, Nova has already become the official tyre supplier of the European-wide RallyX championship, the official tyre supplier of four prestigious Peter Auto historic racing series in Europe and the title sponsor and major tyre supplier of the British Hillclimb Championship.
