n a wet and wild weekend of F1 at Silverstone for the British GP, whilst the obvious news was Sir Lewis picking up his 104th win and a record-breaking 9th at a single venue (not to mention his home GP too) there was another very special car out on track doing historic F1 Demos. The car? Well, it was the ex-Jody Scheckter McLaren M19A from 1971 that was recently purchased by AVIT Motorsport that run Ewen and Rachel Sergison’s cars. It probably wasn’t the dream first drive for Ewen, considering how the weather was over the weekend. However it fast became apparent that if it’s wet or dry, the car both looks and sounds stunning out there on track. Those who braved the weather certainly got a treat.

There were several other notable cars participating in the demos as well, including the little-known bright orange Eurobrun, a manufacturer infamous for frequently failing to qualify, and the Williams FW22, driven by none other than Jenson Button in the car in which he made his F1 debut.
