From a purely automotive background, self-styled ‘Car Guy” Marc Quayoun has taken on the job of Managing Director at Peter Auto. With an extensive automotive background, 53 year-old Quayoun spent 10 years at Mercedes-Benz and Smart, before joining Porsche France as Sales Director, eventually being appointed Managing Director in 2011. He led the creation of the Porsche Experience Center at Le Mans in 2015, but wanting some experience in North America, he moved to Porsche Canada from 2018 to 2022, where, amongst other things, to show his faith in the product, he undertook a non-stop 5000km road trip in a Panamera GTS in the summer of 2021 and visited seven Porsche Centres, driving through Ontario, Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta, and British Columbia before reaching Vancouver.

“When I was a teenager, I had posters of the Porsche 911, Turbo and 959 on the wall, he said (he first joined the Porsche Club in 1999). “I enthusiastically and humbly accepted the offer to join Peter S.A.S. as Managing Director. Leading Peter Auto is an opportunity I couldn’t pass up! Since the early 1980s, Peter Auto has built an international reputation for organising high-end historic automotive events that resonate with enthusiasts. The same holds true for Peter & Associates, a specialised communications agency. My ongoing goal will be to nurture these iconic events, which provide automotive brands a unique platform to showcase their DNA, connecting past, present, and future.”

The Peter Auto Group was Founded in 1978 and now brings together Peter Auto, SAVH, organising company of Le Mans Classic and Peter & Associés, communications consultancy. Peter Auto was founded in 1982 by Patrick and Sylviane Peter and has organised both modern and historic racing events throughout the world, including top historic events such as the Tour Auto, Le Mans Classic, Rallye des Princesses, Chantilly Art et Elégance and a series of race meetings such as Spa Classic and the Grand Prix de l’Âge d’Or, where nine series by Peter Auto regularly race. At the end of this year, founders Patrick and Sylviane Peter will be stepping away from the business that they built, not into retirement, but into the next chapter. “As far as we’re concerned, it’s a page in our life that is turning, but we’re not sad because we’re certain that our great adventure is a never-ending story. We’re sure that Marc, who has proven himself with premium manufacturers, will know how to look after this automobile family that my wife and I founded more than forty years ago.”

One of Patrick’s first adventures will be in the 2025 Peking to Paris, where he will compete with his sons.
