The Historic Grand Prix Cars Association, the Formula Junior Historic Racing Association and the GT and Sports Car Cup are setting out on a Sicilian adventure in May when they constitute the main attraction at the new Settimana Motoristica Ennese event on the 4.9km Autodromo di Pergusa on 17-19 May.  Constructed in 1951, the Autodromo is situated in the heart of Sicily on the side of a lake near the town of Enna.  The event is limited to pre-1966 cars, with the HGPCA supplying the grid for the ‘Gran Premio del Mediterraneo’ – a non-championship event that existed in the ‘70s for F1 cars – and the GT and Sportscar Cup cars running in the ‘Coppa Città di Enna’, also a revival of a once popular ‘70s race.  The Formula Juniors will be running a round of the Lurani Trophy.  Competitors can enjoy subsidised ferry crossings and hotels.  The event is scheduled to be more than a race meeting, with off-track activities including a football match between the locals and the drivers!  Contact the grid organisers for entries.
