Here at Historic Motor Racing News we do our best to contribute to the world’s efforts to cut emissions and the waste of resources.  With our digital edition we offer subscribers an option that does not involve the use paper or transport.  However, we understand that many readers enjoy the look and feel of the printed magazine.  That is why we ensure that the printed version is as environmentally friendly as we can make it.

Historic Motor Racing News is printed on Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certified paper.  To earn the FSC certification, a forest must meet a set of criteria that includes:

• The forest must be managed in a way that protects the environment and the rights of indigenous people.

• The forest must be managed in a way that provides for the sustainable harvesting of timber.

• The forest must be managed in a way that promotes social and economic development.

Further, our printer, Bishops, does not use chlorine in the bleaching process.  The paper mill itself is one of the most efficient and environmentally sound mills in the world.  60% of its electricity is produced onsite and 80% of its energy is bioenergy.  All wastepaper is recycled on-site.  The inks used are vegetable-based.  More than 1,500 solar panels cover their 85,000 square foot roof, reducing use of fossil fuels and offsetting 2,842 tonnes of CO2 per year.
