Gravel Romania

For those who like a rally based on speed, Gravel Romania Historic Rally offers challenges galore, with varied terrain over long stages in a compact five-day event.  On a route of just over 1100kms in total, nearly 400kms are at speed in 27 special stages, all on loose surface.  Run in loops around the town of Covasna in the sparsely populated eastern Carpathian Mountains in high summer (June 17-21), competitors return to the same hotel each night.   Eligible cars are from Period E (1947-1961) to Period J1 (1982-1985) with two and four-wheel drive cars from Period J2 (1989 -1990) accepted by invitation.  Cars must run to FIA Appendix K standards but HTPs are not required.  Local licences are available for those who don’t have international licences.  Romania is part of the EU, so no special documentation or carnets are needed for the race cars or crews.  Reconnaissance is allowed.
