The 71st Rally Motul Costa Brava kicked off the rally season for the FIA European Historic Rally Championship, the Spanish Championships, both Sporting and Regularity, and the Catalan Championships. It also included a Legend Category for exhibition with a selection of truly legendary machines and drivers.
Tony’ and Marco Verdelli finished fifth and first in Category 2
Reigning FIA Category 3 Champion Zippo, with co-driver Nicolo Arena (Audi Quattro), won his first event of the season after fellow Category 3 driver Karl Wagner’s Porsche 911 was sidelined from the lead by clutch problems.
Karl Wagner and Gerda Zauner led initially but clutch problems dropped their Porsche down to fourth at the end
