Tibor Erdi claimed his third outright victory of the 2023 FIA European Historic Rally Championship season with a dominant performance on Rallye Weiz in Austria on 13-15 July.  The Hungarian and his Croatian co-driver Istvan Kerék completed the 500kms of the rally, including 145kms of timed stages, to the acclaim of large crowds of enthusiastic spectators, proving fastest on all but two of the 13 stages in their Ford Sierra Cosworth 4×4.

Close behind, Erdi’s nearest rival was once again the Italian ‘Lucky’, with co-driver Fabrizia Pons.  Their distinctive black Lancia Delta Integrale 16v suffered time penalties after delays in heavy traffic on the road sections, but they enjoyed a clean rally to second place overall and in Category 4 to notch up their 6th podium from six events this season.

Despite a penalty, Philippe Mermet held on to third place in Category 3
