Autumn Racing in Iberia

For those who want to prolong the mild months, there is a full programme of racing on the Iberian Peninsula in October and into December.  Starting with the Estoril Classic on 7-8 October where all the Peter Auto grids will offer races for GT, touring and prototypes, plus races for historic Formula One cars and Diogo Ferräo’s Iberian Historic Endurance, there is also a grid of historic motor bikes.

Two weeks later the return of the Jerez Historic Festival at the Circuito de Jerez–Ángel Nieto on 21-22 October, will bring together an excellent racing program and a full list of activities for all family members.  Races for the Historic Grand Prix Cars Association and Formula Junior will headline the event and Race Ready will field all of its various grids, which include GT and touring cars, of all ages, and a Youngtimer race for cars up to 1991.

Only a week later, the long-standing Algarve Historic Festival will take place where stars from Masters Historic racing, HGPCA and Formula Junior will shine and the much anticipated GT & Sportscar Cup will follow tradition and end its season in the sunshine.

Finally, there will be on last fling on 2-3 December when Race Ready stages its 250km of Estoril event and where all GT, Touring, and Youngtimers will have races.

Diogo Ferrão’s Race Ready organisation has arranged transport from Switzerland and the UK at favourable rates, and secure parking for race cars and trucks in between events, so crews and drivers can simply fly in and out.  See the calendar section of the HMRN website for all the dates and contact www.raceready.pt for help with transport or storage.
