Launched just a few short years ago, this event is for drivers of Youngtimers who want to take up the challenge of racing for some 40 laps on the Nordschleife and is run as a points-scoring round of the ADAC Youngtimer Cup, though non-championship drivers are welcome to come and do it as a one-off. There are many different classes for Touring and GT cars and competition cars (TCS, GTS, GTP and Cup Cars) from period F up to 1994 and was won outright this year by a Porsche RSR. At least two drivers are required but teams can have up to four. The race ends after 1000kms or a maximum of 6.5 hours driving time. Organiser, Stefan Eckhardt would like to attract more international crews and invites you to have a look at 1000kmnuerburgring.de. Dates for next year are 20-22 September.
