The national holiday was transformed into a celebration of motor sports on the heights of Clermont-Ferrand, where the third edition of the Charade Super Show kept all its promises by attracting a large number of spectators, a dozen famous drivers, 200 racing vehicles… and even the sun!

When it launched two years ago, the operator of the circuit imagined a unique event, bringing together historic and modern vehicles, cars and motorcycles, in the presence of champions of the past and present. For its third edition, the first held over two days, the meeting attracted 12,000 spectators.

Of particular interest was the moving celebration of the 50th anniversary of the last Grand Prix de France Moto organised at the Puydôme circuit in 1974. For the occasion, the Amicale Spirit of Speed and the Auvergne Moto Sport association brought together 80 racing bikes of all eras, nationalities, brands and cylinders – some entrusted to legendary riders such as the 1990 sidecar world champion Alain Michel or the speed riders Raymond Roche and Christian Sarron.

There were also big names in the car paddock where you could meet Jean-Claude Andruet, Soheil Ayari, Jean-Philippe Belloc, Romain Monti, Jean Ragnotti, Valentin Simonet, as well as local stars Nathanaël Berthon and Rudy Servol. Drivers took to the track in more than a hundred cars, covering a wide range of disciplines, from single seaters, including F1, to drifting, endurance, touring, rallying, off-road…

Off track spectators enjoyed simulators, slot racing, inflatable games, and exhibitors’ stalls, and even a dance on Saturday evening in front of the stage where the band Little Odetta and DJ Leoquisnap performed.

Eric Boudot, President of circuit owners, GCK said, “To see Jean Ragnotti alongside his R5 Turbo from the 1982 Tour de Corse, or Christian Sarron riding the Yamaha TZ with which he won the title of 750cc World Vice-Champion in 1977 can leave no one indifferent. Charade offers the authentic setting that this moving reunion deserves. By reconciling these historical tributes with more modern shows such as stunt or drifting, we have found the formula that unites all generations around the same passion! We are proud to bring back to life this circuit that many consider to be one of the most beautiful in the world.”
