Entries are now open for the 2024 Silver Fern Rally New Zealand.  A seven-day epic, starting in Christchurch and finishing on the shores of Lake Wakatipu in a picture postcard summary of New Zealand’s topography and heritage, past International Silver Fern Rally winners include Andrew Cowan, Hannu Mikkola, Jimmy McRae, and recent victors Matthew Robinson and James Ford.  A 2000km route that includes 51 smooth and fast special stages, totalling 1000kms ranging from fast forest to open prairie and a breathtaking mountain pass, have been described as the ‘best rally roads in the world.’  Open to almost all historic rally cars up to 1995 in several different local, national and international competitions, this year’s event also includes the options of the Silver Fern Time Trial or the Silver Fern Tour, primarily aimed at those who would like to come and enjoy the event in a less competitive environment but get to drive the entire rally route.

The Silver Fern has been described as “part of the great trilogy of top historic endurance rallies, namely the R.A.C. in the UK, the Classic Kenyan Safari and this, the Silver Fern New Zealand seven-day epic” and ex-WRC Belgian co-driver Stéphane Prévot described it as, “pure rally gold!”

Dates are November 22-29.  Details and entry forms can be found at silverfernrally.co.nz.
