With our winter approaching, New Zealand is going into spring and the F5000 boys down under have announced a five-round calendar for the coming season. After recent traumas, the series has chosen an all-domestic schedule. They will be amongst the last to race on the historic Pukekohe Park Raceway just weeks before it closes for good for motor sport, invited by the Auckland-based Historic Racing Club to join in the celebrations of the career of ‘60s single-seater racing great Jim Palmer.
Back in 1974 when the F5000 category was the main drawcard at the annual NZ Grand Prix meeting at Pukekohe in January, British F1 driver Peter Gethin (Chevron B24 #2) appears to get the jump on poleman Graeme McRae (McRae GM 2 #1) at the start of the GP Photo Terry Marshall

20-22 January 2023 – Taupo Historic Grand Prix -Taupo International Motorsport Park
3-5 February 2023 – Skope Classic – Mike Pero Motorsport Park – Ruapuna Christchurch
24-26 February 2023 – HRC Jim Palmer Pukekohe Park Raceway – Pukekohe
17-19 March 2023 – HRC Legends of Speed Hampton Downs – National Track Waikato
