Entries are now open for the ninth running of the Winter Romania Historic Rally, which runs through the Carpathians in Transylvania, one of the coldest regions of the country. Paul Lacombe and his team are working hard to concoct a new program for three days of racing in three loops around the city of Covasna over the ice and snow-covered forest roads of the Comandaü plateau. There will be some new stages on a total route of some 460kms with 230 timed competitive kilometres on the programme.
Open to 2 and 4-wheel drive VHC and Classic vehicles registered before 1996, organisers have designated new categories in 2025, for Legend, VHRS and VMRS (Véhicules Modernes de Régularité Sportive). There will also be a new, Junior Category dedicated to young people aged 16 to 20. Entries close on 14 December and there is a substantial discount for early registration. See www.romania-historic-rally.com for regs and entries.
