The UK’s Historic Rally Car Register has announced that 2026 will see the inaugural season for the HRCR Clubmans Beginners Championship. The intention is to bring those inexpe- rienced in historic road rallying into a Championship where they can compete in the same event as the Inter-club crews but with a tulip roadbook or marked map. Everything else will remain the same so the crews will have all the timed road regularities and special tests but without the plotting.

The car categories will be amalgamated and scrutineered in the same way, so pre-1991 specification cars are eligible. There will be approximately seven qualifying events with the best five counting towards the championship. There will be one perpetual award for the best overall crew of the year to be held for one year only. Find details at www.hrcr.co.uk.
