For its back-to-school meeting after the summer break, the fourth of five French Championship events took place at Nogaro on 6-8 September, the Historic Tour’s first visit there since 2020. It marked the 64th Grand Prix de Nogaro.
The meeting unfortunately came to a tragic end with the death of Jean-Pierre Gaillard, who was involved in an accident at the start of the last race of the weekend. Jean-Pierre was a regular of the Historic Tour and raced in the GT Classic Trophy. The amiable Swiss driver had been competing for several seasons at the wheel of a Porsche 928, which was replaced this year by a Porsche 996 GT3 Cup. We join the HVM organising team in extending our condolences to his wife, Pia, and entire family and to his many friends on the Historic Tour, who are affected by this tragedy.
