The 34th edition of the Tour Auto will run next year on 7-12 April, and though the route has not yet been announced, entries opened on 30 September.  As each year, there is a featured car that takes pride of place and receives special priority for entries.   For 2025 two models are in the spotlight.  The Lancia Stratos and the Alpine A106 are two cars that have marked the history of rallying.

The Stratos was a ground-breaking design that has become an icon of 1970s rallying.  Its light and powerful 2.4-litre V6 engine borrowed from the Ferrari Dino enabled it to dominate three consecutive World Rally Championships, from 1974 to 1976.

The Alpine A106 was the very first car produced by Alpine and represents the beginning of the Alpine adventure in the field of light and agile sports cars.  Based on the Renault 4CV, but with a lighter fiberglass body and an improved chassis for racing, the A106 was Introduced in 1955, taking its name from the engine of the 4CV (type 106).  Thanks to its light weight and aerodynamics, it excelled in rallying and racing events and paved the way for more iconic models such as the Alpine A110 and A310, which went on to become rally legends.  Details of itinerary and other information will be found at www.peterauto.fr as they become available.
