The must-do Tour Auto event runs this year on 3 to 9 May to celebrate its 35th anniversary with eligibility extended to 1984. With an ever-changing route, this year the event will head south-west to Biarritz. After a day of scrutineering and an exhibition of the cars on Sunday 3 and Monday 4 May at the Grand Palais, drivers and co-drivers will set off for the Basque Coast. Early on Tuesday 5 May, they will leave the capital and head for the Château de Courances for the official start. The crews will then set off on the roads of France and compete in timed events on four circuits (Magny-Cours, Albi, Pau Arnos, and Nogaro) and ten special stages contested on closed roads. The route will pass through Clermont- Ferrand, Pont du Gard, Toulouse, Pau, and Biarritz, where competitors are expected to arrive on Saturday evening.

The Ferrari 250, in all its variations, and the BMW 2002 are the two models singled out for special honour this year.
