After a successful debut at Donington in 2025 overwhelming demand has dictated that Equipe Classic Racing move its Six Hour race to the Silverstone Grand Prix circuit for 2026. The date has been set for 2-3 May.
Open to teams of two to four drivers the 6 Hours will have mandatory stops with re-fuelling available from the garages to enable teams to plan and judge pit stop strategy. This premium event will be open to pre-1966 GT, GTS, Touring and GTP cars, (Ford GT40 is excluded) under FIA Appendix K regulations with HTP or an Equipe Technical Passport, in numerous classes. Cars may run on Dunlop historic CR65 L section, Dunlop M Section or Avon ZZ tyres. Professional drivers are allowed, but each team must contain at least one amateur. There will be separate awards for pro and amateur teams. Teams that include a professional driver will be classed as pros.

A full 60-car grid is expected, with cars ranging from Cobras to Mini Coopers – with Lotus Elan, Ginetta, Mustang and Cortina and many others, as well as all the cars from Equipe GTS, Pre’63 and 50s. The race is open to drivers and teams from the UK and Europe.
“We have been working on this for some time, we feel there is a big gap for a super long team event in the UK. We see this as the spirit of the Spa race in the early 2000s with a closely matched grid of cars. Silverstone GP is the ideal venue with the perfect mix of challenge and distance to give close racing to all classes. The event will run across both days and there will be a big party on Saturday Evening,” said Rob Cull for Equipe Classic Racing.
Last year’s inaugural event resulted in a Lotus Elan rout, won by Ben Barker, Rory Butcher and Ben Tinkler (see our August 2025 issue), but the dynamics will surely shift in favour of the bigger cars on the full Silverstone circuit.
