Targa Trofeo

Anew initiative from Mark Perry and his team at the Targa Tasmania will see the inclusion of a new three-day event to be held in tandem with this year’s Targa Tasmania.

The event will be called Targa Trofeo and run over the first three days of Targa Tasmania for a wide group of competitors and tour participants who may have time and budget constraints. The new event is open to everyone and will be run in the same manner as Targa Tasmania, using identical regulations and competition structures alongside having its own Targa Tour.

It is also the perfect place for first time competitors and tour participants to start their Targa journey with the bonus of Targa Trofeo counting towards Targa Tasmania eligibility criteria on successful completion of the Trofeo course, making it the only other tarmac rally that provides this benefit.

Run over the first three days of Targa Tasmania, culminating in a ceremonial finish in Launceston on Friday 20 November, the event will have its own look and feel, truly being an event within an event, not just another category of the main rally. It will have its own trophies, number plates, door panels and so on to create a new and unique experience for those who take part. It will also provide very special prizes to three crews taking part. As was the case in the previous Rookie Rallye, the outright winning crew will receive a free competition entry into the 2027 Targa Tasmania. One competition crew and one Targa Tour crew will also receive a free entry into the 2027 Targa Tasmania selected by a lucky draw amongst all entrants taking part in Targa Trofeo.
