Started in 2017 as a one-off to celebrate the circuit’s 90th anniversary, the Nürburgring Classic was such a success that is has become a permanent fixture on the calendar. Growing in stature each year, with a full track schedule of races and demon- strations, some on the GP circuit and some on the Nordschleife, and an extensive supporting programme that includes club gatherings, a pre-war paddock, live music, a Ferris wheel and fireworks, the event this year is set for 12-14 June. Classic car owners also get a chance to drive their cherished vehicles on the Nordschleife in a series of regularity trials.

Racing highlights will be the Boss GP Racing Series for thunderous high-performance formula cars and the Touring cars of the “Golden Era,” always a huge hit with spectators, supplying impressive, packed grids of cars from the 1980s and ‘90s, often with vehicle- driver combinations from the good old DTM era.
This year will see the return of the Historic F3 1000cc European Trophy with its high-revving “screamer” engines. In addition to qualifying and racing on the Grand Prix circuit, drivers and fans can look forward to a special highlight. On Saturday, 13 June, the series will complete exclusive demo laps on the Nordschleife.
More single seater content will be supplied by the Lurani Trophy Formula Juniors, which will hold its second round after a visit to Hockenheim in May.
GT cars up to 1965, and up to 1981 will have their own grids, and later cars will be running in the Youngtimer Trophy. The Kampf der Zwerge and Historic Monoposto Racing will also be on the programme. See www.nuerburgringclassic.de or grid organisers for entries.
