With no other nominations were received to replace outgoing The Vintage Sports-Car Club President Simon Blakeney-Edwards, the role will go to Paul Mullins, with John Lomas stepping up into the Vice President’s chair. Originally slated to become Vice President under Jon Giles, who stepped away as President-Elect when it became clear that he would not be able to find enough time to devote to the job, Mullins joined the club in 1990 and is an MG man, driving a K3, K1 and currently rebuilding a J4. In his acceptance letter he said, “The VSCC is extraordinary in the breadth and quality of its activities and for our role in ensuring the cars we love are preserved and can be used. Our members are committed, energetic and friendly. We truly are the friendly face of historic motor sport and the friendly face of historic motoring generally. I am honoured to be becoming your President. I am looking forward to us enjoying together the great things that the Club does, and to our working together to make them even better.” With a background in the City of London but now retired, Paul also said, “I am in the fortunate position to have time I can devote to a role I am aware can be demanding.”
