After we previewed it in last month’s issue, Masters Historic Racing has announced the cancellation of both the Masters Historic Weekend, originally scheduled for 24-26 October 2025 at Dubai Autodrome, and the Gulf Historic Grand Prix Revival, originally set for 31 October-2 November 2025 at Yas Marina Circuit, due to “unforeseen logistical complications [that] have arisen that may compromise the timely delivery of cars and equipment to the UAE.”

“After carefully evaluating all possible solutions, we have come to the difficult decision that cancellation is the most responsible course of action – both to protect the experience for our competitors and to uphold the standard of excellence our events are known for. While this decision was not made lightly, it opens the door to something even better. We are actively working on the 2026 Masters Tour, which will feature some of the most iconic circuits around the world, promising an unforgettable season of historic motorsport,” the announcement said.

The Masters’ Historic F1 support race to the Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix at the Yas Marina Circuit on 5-7 December is not affected and is still scheduled to go ahead.

This has come amidst changes in key personnel at Masters Historic Racing. Long-time (20 years) Event Director Rachel Bailey left the organisation in July and her second in command Jo Seymour also left just after the Masters’ last full race event, the Silverstone Festival in late August.
