Meanwhile, on the following evening, Hothouse Media, publishers of Octane and Magneto magazines, were celebrating their annual awards just up the road at London’s Peninsula Hotel.
This time it was Patrick and Sylviane Peter who were the recipients of the Lifetime Achievement accolade. after decades of serving up the best classic car events in the world. Founders of Peter Auto, as well as their hallmark events such as the Tour Auto and top-tier race meetings across Europe, the couple has masterminded Chantilly Arts & Élégance Richard Mille and the sensational Le Mans Classic. The award comes just as they have stepped down from Peter Auto after some 40 years of developing the business into one of the most prolific and important historic motoring events companies in the world.
The award was presented to the couple, who had no idea that they were receiving it, by their three sons, who came out of hiding onto the stage to further surprise them. Long-time friend Carol Spagg introduced the award on stage.
