Vde V has announced that Laure Van de Vyver, an important part of the team since 2001, has taken over the direction of V de V Sports the organisers behind so much historic endurance racing,
Her father Eric Van de Vyver was one of the pioneers of historic motor sport when he created his team, V de V, in 1985 which he entered for most of the major historic events at the time. In 1992 he organised the first, and so far, only, VHC 24-hour endurance race, the 2 Tours d’Horloge, on the Paul Ricard circuit. The event met with immediate success and encouraged him to progressively multiply the number of VHC endurance races both in France and abroad.

Gaining recognition for the quality of his meetings, from 2000 he and his V de V team added races for modern machinery, which included sprints for GTs and Prototypes as well as the Funyo Challenge, Formula Renault 2.0, and endurance events like the Challenge European Endurance GT/Tourisme/LMP/PFV Challenge and Prototypes.
Returning to the V de V roots of historic motorsport, Laure is looking forward to the challenge. “My father, with his experience and his vision, will always be a valuable advisor and a competitor. He will of course continue to race with his TVR Griffith 200. The family DNA is intact, and with it I want to be the guarantor of an approach specific to V de V Sports, built since 1992”
She intends to keep the V de V focus on endurance racing, something she says, “is about conviviality, team spirit, and adventure.” She also intends to maintain, “what gives V de V Sports its distinctive character, being today the only organiser in the world to offer long races for historic vehicles, with Les 2 Tours d’Horloge as the only 24-hour race”
