F1 Celebration at Brands Hatch

As part of its 100th Anniversary celebrations, Brands Hatch will be welcoming two very special Williams Formula 1 cars at the Masters Festival on 30-31 May. The cars, raced to victory by Nigel Mansell in Grands Prix at the Kent circuit in 1985 and 1986, include the Williams FW10, as raced by Mansell to his first Grand Prix victory in the European Grand Prix at Brands Hatch, and the Williams FW11, the victor of the circuit’s final Grand Prix in 1986.

The FW10 is notable for introducing the yellow, blue and white Canon livery, the colours with which the team would become synonymous through the remainder of the ‘80s and into the early ‘90s, while the FW11 is looked back on especially fondly for Mansell’s heroics in the 1986 British Grand Prix when he hunted down Piquet before going on to win.

Both cars will appear in a special display area throughout the Masters Historic Festival weekend, with the entire event slated to act as a celebration of Brands Hatch F1 heritage featuring Formula One cars from every era that competed in Grands Prix at the circuit between 1964 and 1986. The Masters Racing Legends 3-litre DFV era cars will be taking centre stage, and the Masters Demo Legends will be showcasing iconic Formula 1 Cars from the ’90s and beyond. Of course, a full programme of Masters races for sports, GTs and touring cars are also on the timetable.
