Ten years after its founding, Magny-Cours based Classic Racing School, the world’s first school dedicated to historic single-seaters is launching a new one-make championship in a time-honoured tradition of providing races for its successful students. School founder Julien Chaffard explained, “After years of training and coaching, it felt natural to offer them the opportunity to compete in a championship that fully reflects the spirit of the school.”
The Vintage Club Series, developed in close collaboration with the FFSA and Northern Irish manufacturer Crosslé, will feature a brand-new, classic-style car, the Crosslé 92F, recently homologated and purpose-built for the series.

The racing version of the 90F – a lightly modernised take on a car that sat on the Formula Ford grid back in 1969 – the Crosslé 92F is hand built around a 1.8L naturally aspirated 4-cylinder Ford Zetec engine with a Weber 32/36 DGV carburettor, delivering 130hp through a 4-speed manual gearbox. It has an MSA-homologated brazed steel tubular chassis and weighs 430kg. Aerodynamics are handled by 17F-style wings, giving the car an appearance strikingly similar to Crosslé’s own 17F Formula 3 car from 1971 – only now with more power and the benefits of a modern, highly reliable engine.
“Our goal was to create a championship in which sporting fairness, driving enjoyment and authenticity matter more than outright performance,” continued Chaffard. “Drivers will benefit from top-level track conditions and professional coaching, within a true turnkey package that includes full logistics, storage, transport, car preparation, technical support, mechanical servicing, reliability, safety and spare parts – all in the same mindset as the Classic Racing School.”
The first official Vintage Club Series event will take place on 9–10 October 2026 at Nevers Magny-Cours, alongside the Caterham Cup, with a target of 6 to 7 race weekends in 2027.
