After the announcement last month of a new class for 4 x4 vehicles in next year’s Peking to Paris Motor Challenge, organisers HERO have extended the eligibility further to include a new, special Invitation Class category for pre-1985 two-wheel drive rally cars. The new category will be limited to five cars and would-be entrants are asked to send details and photographs of their car choice to be considered for inclusion. Suggestions have included Mercedes SLC, Peugeot 205, Porsche 911 and Alfetta GT and GTVs built by Autodelta in the 1970s in FIA Group 2 form. The new category will have its own class and awards. Next year will mark the ninth running of this ultimate motoring challenge. See HERO-ERA for details.
