Announcing the grids that will run at this year’s Circuit des Remparts in Angoulême organisers have included some changes to the programme. Two grids that have not run there before are the Plateau Victor Riley, for pre-war Rileys and their contemporaries – the tight and twisty track particularly suits Rileys, and they have traditionally done well here – and the Earl of March plateau that will showcase MGs, Midget, Magna, and Magnette (MMM), from 1929 to 1936. There is also a race for Formula 3 500cc cars named after French champion Claude Berton.

Added to the usual mix of Bugatti-only grid and two races for post-war GT and touring cars, two demonstration grids are also on the programme, the first for French Formula single-seaters, thanks to the support of the Club Formules de France, and the second demonstration will be dedicated to three-wheeled cars, in partnership with the Amicale Tricyclecariste.

One of the few remaining genuine pre-war venues, where all the greats once raced, the 1,279-meter Angoulême city circuit has remained unchanged after more than 80 years and 53 editions of the Circuit des Remparts. The whole town is given over to motoring- themed activities for a long weekend, including tour, concours, film shows, exhibitions and more, Dates are 18-20 September. Prospective entrants should visit www.circuitdesremparts.com.
