The 2024 Alfa Revival Cup season concluded at Misano World Circuit under sunny skies on 5 November with one of the most highly contested races of the season.  Davide Bertinelli of Team Gatti won the race to score his first Alfa Revival Cup championship title after pole man and points leader Giacomo Barri was forced to retire due to gearbox trouble.  Ronnie Kessel of OKP Alfa Delta Racing Team claimed second place, with Matteo Kamata, also from OKP, in third, all three leaders in GTAms.

The race began with a scorching start from Bertinelli, who overtook Barri on the inside at turn 1.  Barri didn’t have an answer but maintained heavy pressure on the leader until the pit stop window opened after 20 minutes.  Bertinelli, driving solo this time, maintained his lead after the pitstops, with Barri, also driving solo, still close behind and piling on the pressure until he became stuck in fourth gear and was unable to continue.

All through the field there was much passing and re-passing, with the battle for second to fifth particularly intense between Ronnie Kessel, Matteo Kamata, Ambrogio Perfetti, Peter Bachofen paired with Dario Inhelder, and the Giulia Sprint GTA driven by Massimo Guerra and Giovanni Serio, who finished in that order after each enjoyed a moment in the sun.

Starting the race with a four-point deficit, Bertinelli’s win gave him his first Alfa Revival Cup Championship title after a season-long battle with Giacomo Barri, who finished second in the overall points.  Francesco Pantaleo and Antonio Crescenti took third, pinching above their weight in a Period F Giulia Sprint GTA .

Bertinelli commented, “I started out in a tough battle with Giacomo Barri.  Unfortunately, he had a mechanical issue, and from that point, the race became more about managing the car.  I’ve dreamed of winning this championship for years, and I finally made it.  Congratulations to all the drivers and teams for this exciting and unforgettable season.”
