Setting off from Brescia on 9 June under a blazing sun, the 430-car convoy of the 99th edition – and the 44th re-enactment edition – of the Mille Miglia, arrived back in Brescia with the Argentine crew of Juan Tonconogy and his sister Margarita claiming victory in their 1931 Alfa Romeo 6C 1750 GS Spider Zagato. This is Juan’s fourth victory in the event. Having done a five-day, 2000km scenic tour up to Lake Garda and passed through the Veneto, Rimini, Lazio, Tuscany and Mantua, in second place came the similar car of Andrea Vesco and Fabio Salvinelli, who have won the event for the past six years, with Vesco claiming a total of nine outright victories altogether.
